Music Hub 0.3.0
Full notes for the desktop updater. This is the same release content used by the in-app What's New screen after an update.
Music Hub 0.3.0
What’s new
- Personal Private network for listening away from home — Your phone can reach your hub without Tailscale. The private network stays on in Settings → Remote, and pairing QR codes include your hub identity for first-time connects off Wi‑Fi.
- More reliable collaborative playlists between hubs — Shared playlists sync and show covers when two Music Hub computers talk over the private network.
- Clearer Connect on mobile — After you scan a pairing code, the app shows your hub ID so you can confirm you paired the right computer.
- Smoother playback on the phone over the private network — Skipping tracks and scrubbing are quicker and less likely to stall, including when the hub runs on a home server.
- Music Hub Network (beta) — Optional enrichment suggestions from the Music Hub Network add-on. Community add-ons show Coming soon in Settings. (testing decentralised Music Hub Network for consensus metadata exchange)
- Docker + NAS hub (testing) — You can try running Music Hub on a NAS or home server with Docker. If you are interested, reach out via Settings → Talk, or check the Docker docs at https://docs.music-hub.gordo.design/docker
Fixes
- Phones that are not on the same Wi‑Fi as the hub can still connect and play when the private network is available.
- Collaborative playlist covers load more reliably between machines that are not on the same local network.
- List play/pause controls behave more consistently across track rows on desktop.
Upgrade notes
- Update desktop and mobile together before relying on remote listening or collaborative playlists in this release.
- Tailscale is no longer the remote pairing path in Settings. Use Personal Private network (always on) and/or your public link, then re-pair the phone from Settings if you previously depended on Tailscale alone.
- Install 0.3.0 over 0.2.4 via in-app update or the latest installer from the website.
